If there is a better place to throw down a perfect cartwheel than I haven't seen it. The beach in Todos Santos Mexico is 8 miles of deserted, just for us, pristine, pacific coast perfection like I have never seen. For years Baja Mexico has been on the to-do-list but further off locales always seem to draw my attention first. We finally made it down there this past week and I'm wondering what I was waiting for. A short hop into Los Cabos airport from LAX and a two hour drive north through the dusty desert brings you to Todos Santos's old world charm and private coastline. We had the good fortune of staying at both the Todos Santos Inn and Los Colibris Casitas during our stay. We walked the beach, walked the town, swam in the Pacific, swam in the Sea of Cortez, and scuba'd with sea lions. A good timeout in Mexico all around! More to come...
Santa Cruz Island in 60 Seconds
Here is a quick edit from the island trip. It's shaky at best but I'm really digging the new GoPro Hero 3. I'm going to have fun with this thing
Santa Cruz Island
The Channel Islands can be a magical place. Most of the chain is less than 20 miles southwest of the Central and Southern California coastline but it feels like a world apart. A big group of friends decided to head out for for some camping at Santa Cruz Island this past weekend and we scored. The weather was as good as it gets, 78 and sunny. We trail ran, free dived, kayaked, hiked, and just enjoyed the solitute, scenery, and the company. Below is a small set from the trip featuring the lookout over the harbor towards Anacapa Island, the notoriously curious and mischievous Island Fox, and the old ranch windmill. I'll be posting more images and a short video of the adventure in the coming weeks...come back for more!
East Side
The sliver of California that exists east of the Sierra Nevada is a magical place. Big, empty, and beautiful

the fight to save southern cal’s last pristine coast
The adventure-journal.com , my favorite outdoor sports website/blog, has used my picture of the Gaviota coast at pink time in their article highlighting the Surfrider Foundation's effort to save the pristine coastline just north of Goleta from development. Check out the article and the film preview on thier kickstarter page. If you've ever driven this stretch of coast you know what's at stake and if you haven't I recommend doing so.
